divider-horizon-lineJO: Hey Kade, It’s been forever since we’ve seen each other. Do you remember the first time we met? Will we be seeing you at any of the upcoming events?

Kade: I have two – you, Eric Arvin, and I crashing a breakfast at ATL GRL; you and me having a random <3 to <3 in the drunk section (aka the smoking area). Then Sam joined us and my life was made.

JO: Some of the best advice I got when I published my first book, was from another author. She told me, the best way to promote is to write another book. What good advice did you get when you first started writing?

Kade: Write, write til you die!” Haha.

JO: I’ve seen a lot of craziness going on in our genre. How do you deal with all the negativity?

Kade: IDK. I guess I remember these are my people [insert Wendy Williams gif]
We are friends and I’m sometimes wrong. I wish more people admitted it when they were; I try to. This is my fam tho. I try to remember to keep shit in perspective.

JO: There are also a lot of great things happening in our genre as well. Tell me one positive change you’ve noticed in the past year.

Kade: I got a review from a “main stream” magazine. That felt big to me. Seeing M/M reach such crazy heights we wouldn’t have imagined 5 yrs ago… It’s humbling and overwhelming. I feel so fucking blessed,

JO: You have quite a few books under your belt. Name one major thing that has changed in your writing from the first book to the most recent.

Kade: I learned to not argue with my editor when she says “was” isn’t the most active of words haha.

JO: What does Kade do for fun when he’s not writing?

Kade: I dance. A lot.

JO: Tell us one thing people would be surprised to learn about you.

Kade: I’ve written/co-edited two text books. Though no one will be surprised to find they’re about Public Policy.

JO: And one final question, do you still own One Direction fake nails? 😉

Kade: YASSS. 5 sets. I’m a boss.

Kade Boehme is a southern boy without the charm, but all the sass. Currently residing in New York City, he lives off of ramen noodles and too much booze. He is the epitome of dorkdom, only watching TV when Rachel Maddow or one of his sports teams is on. Most of his free time is spent dancing, arguing politics or with his nose in a book. He is also a hardcore Britney Spears fangirl and has an addiction to glitter.

It was after writing a short story about boys who loved each other for a less than reputable adult website that he found his true calling, and hopefully a bit more class. A member of Romance Writers of America’s New York City Chapter and Rainbow Writers of America,Kade works as a full time writer.

He hopes to write about all the romance that he personally finds himself allergic to but that others can fall in love with. He maintains that life is real and the stories should be, as well.

He loves to hear from readers, so feel free to get in touch with Kade:

SJD Peterson, better known as Jo, hails from Michigan. Not the best place to live for someone who hates the cold and snow. When not reading or writing, Jo can be found close to the heater checking out NHL stats and watching the Red Wings kick a little butt. Can’t cook, misses the clothes hamper nine out of ten tries, but is handy with power tools.
