Wow – zombies are huge right now – so when I was asked whether I’d like to review this book I couldn’t resist. As afraid of a zombie apocalypse as I am, add in some romance and high drama and I’m there!

Okay two things: 1. The review is long because I really felt strongly about this book. You may not agree but that’s ok! What I love, you can hate and vice versa. But I do want to tell you to give it a chance either way. 2. Giveaway at the end! Scroll down to win an ARC of Triangles! Woohoo!

Apparently this is book #2 of a series but since I’ve read it (Lengths) and honestly can’t remember what happens beyond a vague, “They get together in the end after some angst and a lot of surf talk”, let’s just call this book a standalone for all intents and purposes. I know I know, I’m useless in bringing you up to speed but I’m still gonna dish all the dirt you want about this one. Honest.

Playing with the Boys (A PrettyTOUGH Novel)

Author Note: There’s something odd about this one. It seems like the paperback edition is listed as written by Liz Tigelaar (like this photo) but the Kindle edition has Nicole Leigh Shepherd. They’re the same book, I just don’t know which to list as the author.

Books and Boys: We all have “types”

A few days ago, after yet another Judith/Ellen books conversation, I realized something: I totally have a book “type”. Just like how I know that the tall, über-jock looking guy at the bar will be the one I go for (it’s a weakness!) there are some books that, no matter how bad they might be for me, I will buy. Doesn’t matter if they’re YA/NA/romance novels, or if the book has a zillion 1 star reviews on Amazon, I just can’t say no! So now, dear readers, Judith and I are joining forces for just the second time to discuss our book types. Do you agree? Have we missed any important ones? What are yours??? Please let us know we’re not alone! Read More

The Timber Wolves Extra: Interviewing Liam

Dear Readers, I have a completely unshocking confession to make: I totally have crushes on fictional characters. And I’m guessing, since you all seem pretty awesome, that (whether or not you admit it to your non-reader friends) you do too. I just cannot get enough of Jonah Griggs from Jellicoe Road and Liam Cole from Tammy Blackwell’s Timber Wolves series. You hopefully remember my gushy reviews of books 1 (Destiny Binds) and 2 (Time Mends) – I know I still have to post about book 3 (Fate Succumbs) but trust me: it’s seriously even more amazing than I hoped/dreamed/fantasized it would be.

So when Miss Tammy herself wrote about interviewing Liam I OF COURSE jumped at the opportunity (after I finished jumping up and down and yelling “OMG!” at the top of my lungs). Oh and it gets even better – while you can see the awesome interview here, if you go to her blog you’ll get to read an bonus short story written from Liam’s perspective!! I’ve gotten a peek and I promise you won’t be disappointed. Read More

Plot: Picking up exactly where the first book left off, Keatyn is still at her posh boarding school far away from her family and friends in order to protect them, and herself, from creepy stalker Vincent. At school Keatyn’s days are filled with hot guys, fashion choices that make me beyond jealous, furnishing the fabulous loft she’s purchased and, oh did I mention the hot guys? I believe there’s a little school work thrown in there too but honestly, who can remember when there’s Dawson and Aiden and Riley (oh my!) to focus on?

I rarely tell you my rating of a book before the review but here it is: 10 stars. No, wait! It’s this new category I’ve just created called: there aren’t enough stars in the world to fully describe how much I adore this book. It is amazing, y’all! Sweet, well written, full of longing and tension, a bitter love story in the past with a sad ending that turns out beautifully in the present. God, just stop reading my review now and get it. I’ll wait. Here’s the link to help you on your way. Got it? Ready? Good, because you’re going to devour this book in hours and then swoon, and do it all over again the next day. And maybe the next too.
