Book Reveal: We Won’t Feel A Thing by J.C. Lillis

Today on ILYAF, we’re featuring an upcoming YA release by J.C. Lillis. Now, if you don’t know J.C. Lillis, let’s change that right now! Last year, she wrote and released an amazing YA love story about two nerd boys falling in love. It was an unusual pairing of comic books, YA, and gay fiction and it really struck a chord with us. It’s called How to Repair a Mechanical Heart and if it were ever in a cover art contest (is that a thing?!), she would totally win.  See why? Read More

Cover and Title Reveal of Tammara Webber’s Between the Lines 4

Tammara Webber has finally revealed the cover and title to her new Between the Lines book due out beginning of August! I’m waiting in breathless anticipation for this book mainly because we will get to see more of Hollywood bad boy Reid but also cause it is the last book in the series, what is surely to be the closing chapter to end all closing chapters of some amazing characters and storylines. They are going to be missed!

Without further ado here it is:

What do you think??? When Ellen first saw it, her response was (and shield your eyes if you don’t like obscenities), “HOLY SHITSNACKS!” Me? I gasped. That simple.

Take a look at her website for more info about the upcoming release, Tammara Webber herself, and news about the book after this one (LUCAS from EASY!!!):

Cover Reveal: Emancipating Andie by Priscilla Glenn

Priscilla Glenn, author of Back to You, has a new book coming out in March. YES! I’m going to pretend that it’s New Adult (it kinda sounds like it could be, alright?) even though it’s being dubbed Contemporary Romance. Let’s just say “Tomato, Tomahto” and get on with the good stuff!

The blurb:

Ever since the one time Andie Weber threw caution to the wind – and paid the price for it – she’s learned that it’s safer and smarter to live life playing by the rules. Now she’s got a great apartment, a steady job, and a wonderful boyfriend in Colin; he’s sweet, stable, and essentially perfect – except maybe for the fact that his best friend is Chase.

Chase McGuire lives his carefree, unstructured life strictly for himself. Dripping sarcasm and oozing wit, he refuses to censor his feelings or opinions for anyone, making no apologies for either and wearing his abrasiveness like a badge of honor. No one has ever gotten under Andie’s skin the way Chase does – and vice versa.

So when Andie and Chase find themselves forced to take a two-day road trip together, they are already dreading an inevitable all-out war. But as the trip progresses, and the undeniable friction that has always defined their relationship slowly begins to wear away their preconceived notions of each other, Andie and Chase discover they both have a lot to learn about life, courage, happiness, and the age-old battle between logic and love.

The author:

Priscilla Glenn lives in New York with her husband and three children. She has been teaching English Language Arts at the middle and high school levels for the past eleven years while moonlighting as a writer, mommy, coach, student, and professional laundry-doer.

If you catch her when she’s feeling sophisticated, she’ll tell you her favorite things are great books and good wine. In the moments in between, she’ll admit her love for anything Ben and Jerry’s, UFC fights, and Robert Pattinson.

And now…the cover!

Top Ten with Priscilla Glenn

Full disclosure: I totally cheat when it comes to “favorite” surveys. Instead of choosing favorites, I give lists. You’ve been warned.

Favorite movie: Dirty Dancing, A Bronx Tale, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, The Karate Kid (the original!), My Cousin Vinny, The Princess Bride

Favorite song: Colorblind by Counting Crows, This Year’s Love by David Gray (I taught myself how to play both on the piano!), Hold You In My Arms by Ray LaMontagne, These Are The Days by Van Morrison, Arizona by Kings of Leon, Last Request by Paolo Nutini, Killing Me Softly by The Fugees, Romeo and Juliet by Dire Straits

A place I’d love to visit: Italy, Greece (especially Santorini), Hawaii

Item you can’t live without: My cell phone. I know it’s irrational, but if I ever happen to forget it at home, or if it runs out of battery in a place where I can’t charge it, I have a moment of sheer panic. It’s quite ridiculous.

Person you would like to meet: If I were being fantastical, I would say Maya Angelou. If I were being realistic, I would say Katja Millay, author of The Sea of Tranquility. She stepped up and took me under her wing when I first published Back to You, and we’ve been trading emails, texts, and phone calls ever since. We often lament the fact that we can’t just hop in the car and meet up for coffee. Or alcohol, depending on the day ;)

Favorite hobby: If I say reading and writing, is that cheating? It truly does take up most of the free time I have when I’m not teaching or taking care of my family. I love, love, love getting manicures and pedicures. Does that qualify as a hobby? 😉 I also love teaching myself songs on the piano, although it’s been a while since I’ve learned anything new.

Guilty pleasure: Robert Pattinson. I know, I know. My husband never misses an opportunity to tell me I’m not thirteen years old, to which I always respond that I don’t have a crush on him for being Edward. I like that he’s humble and self-deprecating and funny. And also, he’s sex on legs.

Favorite book/author: anything by Emily Giffin, Stephenie Meyer, JR Ward, Tammara Webber, Victoria Dahl, Jennifer Crusie, Suzanne Collins, Veronica Roth, SC Stephens

Favorite color: blue

Collect anything? Do toys count? My kids are five, three, and ten months. My family room often looks like an episode of hoarders.

EXCLUSIVE TEASER for Priscilla Glenn’s next book, Emancipating Andie. The full 3 page sneak peek will be released on January 9th! Check back for the full thing but for now, content yourself with this:

He lunged at her and she screeched in protest, attempting to get out of the car, but he grabbed her hand before she could reach the handle.

Andie sucked in a breath and froze.

It was like a static shock, only not unpleasant, a fuzzy electric tingling that shot up

her arm the second he touched her, settling in her chest.

As soon as she gave up the fight, he reached over and took her other hand, sandwiching them between both of his.

She could feel the warmth of his skin permeating hers as he pressed his palms together, and she glanced up at him. He was watching her, his eyes full of amusement and something else she couldn’t place.

Cover Reveal: The Watcher by Lisa Voisin

Y’all: Ellen is gonna be mad at me! Why is that, you’re probably gleefully asking yourself. Well, this cover reveal, for Lisa Voisin’s The Watcher, looks nothing short of amazing! And it involves…should I tell you? I don’t know, maybe you’ll be a little bit mad at me too. Okay, here it goes; I’ll just blurt it out: it involves angels and I really want to read it! Does that make me a bad person? We all know how much Ellen dislikes books involving angels. Well it gets worse: a few weeks ago, she gave a book involving angels a sub par ranking and then, the angels fried her computer. No joke. Her computer was fine until that review posted and then 10 minutes later it was unsalvageable to the point that the Geek Squad could do absolutely NOTHING with it. Eerie stuff, right?

I can’t see The Watcher doing that to me, though, can you? I mean, look at how pretty this cover is:

And now read the summary. Something that sounds this good for Judith can’t be wrong. Can it?

Millennia ago, he fell from heaven for her.

Can he face her without falling again?

Fascinated with ancient civilizations, seventeen-year-old
Mia Crawford dreams of becoming an archaeologist. She
also dreams of wings—soft and silent like snow—and
somebody trying to steal them.

When a horrible creature appears out of thin air and
attacks her, she knows Michael Fontaine is involved, though
he claims to know nothing about it. Secretive and aloof,
Michael evokes feelings in Mia that she doesn’t understand.
Images of another time and place haunt her. She recognizes
them—but not from any textbook.

In search of the truth, Mia discovers a past life of forbidden
love, jealousy and revenge that tore an angel from Heaven
and sent her to an early grave. Now that her soul has
returned, does she have a chance at loving that angel again?
Or will an age-old nemesis destroy them both?

Ancient history is only the beginning.

Okay, let’s get real here: generally we don’t do so well with novels about

past lives but this one promises to be uber-good.

Plus the publisher is giving away a really cool pendant/necklace set to whet our whistles until the books March 2013 release date (yes, it really is THAT far away). Click the picture below for all the details directly from Inkspell Publishing:

My only request is that if you win, will you please send some of those good angel vibes our way? Both Ellen and her computer will thank you for it.

Cover Reveal: Jillian Dodd’s soon to be released book, Stalk Me

So you absolutely adore Jillian Dodd and you just finished That Boy quickly followed by That Wedding. Does your internal monologue run a little something like this: “Phillip! Drool…sigh…Phillip. Crap, these books are over and the third one won’t be out for at least 6 months. Crap crap crap. No more Phillip. What am I gonna read? Something paranormal? Nah! I’m a little tired of all the sparkles, blood, and unrealized sexy times.  I really wish that Jillian Dodd would just go ahead and write something else. Preferably with a hero named Thillip or Millip. But those names are just stupid so she could just stick with Phillip. Let me check out…gasp!” And you would be spot on. Let me offer you a little something to whet your appetite for Jillian Dodd’s latest offering, The Keatyn Chronicles: Book 1, Stalk Me.

Keatyn has everything she ever dreamed of. Her life is following the script she wrote for the perfect high school experience.

She’s popular, goes to the best parties, dates the hottest guy, and sits at the most coveted lunch table.  She’s just not sure she wants it anymore. Because really, things aren’t all that perfect. Her best friend is threatening to tell everyone her perfect relationship is a scam. Her perfect boyfriend gets drunk at every party they go to. It’s exhausting always trying to look and act perfect. And deep down, she isn’t sure her friends are real.

To add to the drama, her movie star mom has a creepy stalker. A hot, mysterious man keeps flirting with her and telling her they should make a movie together. And she’s crushing on an adorable surfer. Dating him would mean committing social suicide.

So she writes a new script. One where all the pieces of her life will come together in perfect harmony. But little does she know, there’s someone who will do anything to make sure that doesn’t happen.
It’s due out sometime this Fall and like you, I can’t wait. Enjoy!
