Sounds Like Halloween: Day 29 with Roan Parrish

Roan Parrish joins Sounds Like Halloween with a reading from her ghost story Touched from the Follow Me Into Darkness anthology.

About Follow Me Into Darkness and Touched:

Carnivale is a time for decadence, for revelry, and for mischief. A time when we shed the figurative masks we wear in everyday life in favor of new ones… ones that allow us to be a little bolder, a little more adventurous, and perhaps a little truer to ourselves. Follow Me Into Darkness is a compilation of original tales of queer romance by five of the premier authors of contemporary romance.

***

Sometimes when he touches people Philippe Rondeau sees their future. It’s erratic and inconvenient, but mostly he’s learned to deal with it. Sure he hasn’t found true love yet, but he has friends and lovers, and is kept busy running his family’s jazz club in Prohibition-era New Orleans. But now it’s Mardi Gras and all bets are off. In the space of one night, Philippe falls under the spell of jazz musician Claude and learns a terrible secret about his powers. If Philippe is certain of anything it’s that the future can be tricky, but the chance at love makes it all seem worthwhile.

About Roan Parrish:

Roan Parrish lives in Philadelphia, where she is gradually attempting to write love stories in every genre.

When not writing, she can usually be found cutting her friends’ hair, meandering through whatever city she’s in while listening to torch songs and melodic death metal, or cooking overly elaborate meals. She loves bonfires, winter beaches, minor chord harmonies, and self-tattooing. One time she may or may not have baked a six-layer chocolate cake and then thrown it out the window in a fit of pique.

After Follow Me Into Darknesscheck out her upcoming release, The Remaking of Corbin Wale.

Author Chat with Binge on Books, February Edition: Roan Parrish

BoB Podcast Graphic for RP on 2-24It’s that time again. Time for a little Author Chat with Binge on Books! This month’s featured author is the fabulously talented Roan Parrish.

If you don’t know Roan, well, we need to rectify that stat. Last year she broke onto the romance scene with an electrifying debut novel: In the Middle of Somewhere was everything a first book should be. It was beautifully written, achingly nuanced, completely lacking in melodramatic angst, and far sexier than I would ever have expected from a tatted up professor with a chip on his shoulder and a hunky carpenter with secrets to hide. It was funny and irreverent and so very smart…much like Roan Parrish herself. The next novel in the series, Out of Nowhere, will release on 2/29 and let me tell you, it is 100% worth the seemingly endless wait (okay it was only a 6 month wait but still. We are all dying to know what happens next).

I sat down with Roan for this February edition of Author Chat to discuss upcoming projects (there are so so many! YES!), favorite books and writer idols, her love of all things food, her upcoming release and so much more. Plus at the very end, we get a deliciously extended tease featuring a sexy scene from Out of Nowhere and a hint of what’s in store for Colin and Rafe.

Book Reveal: Roan Parrish’s next book

If you follow me or this site pretty regularly, there are two things you will know with a great deal of certainty:

1. I adore author Roan Parrish. Why? Girlfriend can write. Whether it’s sexy, nuanced romance, an essay about gender, identity, and pandering, or a paranormal Halloween short, one thing’s for sure: it is all gorgeous and lush and poetic in a way that will just sort of…linger, burrowing inside you and letting you think of nothing else.

2. I’ve been dying to get my hands on some information – any information – about the sequel to In the Middle of Somewhere. Who would the book be about? What would the title be? WOULD WE SEE MORE REX OR DANIEL?!

Well, finally, the loooooong wait is now over and I can tell you all about that next book. So now the BIG reveal! Read More

Romance review: In the Middle of Somewhere by Roan Parrish

In-the-Middle-of-Somewhere-cover-Roan-ParrishIn the Middle of Somewhere by Roan Parrish

Published by: Dreamspinner Press

Format: Kindle ARC

Genre: M/M Romance

Reviewed by: Judith

Rating: Hands down one of the best romances I’ve read. EVER.

Roan Parrish has a gift. She can take seemingly mundane situations and turn them into something achingly nuanced and compelling. This book is nothing short of breathtaking. It truly is everything you want in a romance: it’s sexy, it’s intimate, the characters genuinely like each other and spend a great deal of their time on the page together talking and learning each other; it reads as 100% natural and nothing about it or their relationship is forced. Not one thing. Get it, devour it, adore it. Then come find me and let’s discuss it cause I just can’t stop talking about this one to anyone who will listen.
